The Health & Safety (Safety Signs & Signals) Regulations become law within the UK on 1st April 1996.The regulations implement the European Safety Signs Directive (92/58/EEC) which has been designed to standardize safety signage's across Europe.

The Malaysian - Department of Occupational Safety & Health provide such as :-

• C.P.I Regulations 1997 (Chemical Labeling)
• Environment Quality (Schedule Waste) Regulations 1989
• Arahan Teknik (Jalan) 2C/85.

Content :-

• Require employer to use a safety sign whenever there is a risk that cannot be controlled by any other means
• Demands that all safety sign boards contains a pictogram as part of their intrinsic design features.
• Extends the "safety sign" to include illuminated signs.
• Increases the number of safety symbols.
• Incorporated fire safety signs 

Tips for Placement of Safety Signs

1. Safety Signs should not be located in a place containing a number of other signs of similar size and color.
2. Safety signs should not be located in areas where color contrast is poor.
3. Add supplementary text to safety signs to increase their length and further improve comprehensibility and legibility.
4. Train all staff, occupiers and visitors to the meaning of distinctive color and geometric shape of safety signs as well the details of any graphical symbol signs used. Continue to reinforce this training and awareness.
5. For fire exist safety signs, it is preferable to use additional reinforcing directional signs rather than reply on one large sign at a longer viewing distance.

Self-adhesive vinyl sticker (SA) - A gloss or matt finish material with a peel off backing paper, suitable for indoor or outdoor use. Apply to clean, dry, smooth surfaces when temperature is above 0 °C 

1mm high impact PVC - Flexible plastic, ideal for fixing to surfaces where self-adhesive vinyl sticker is not suitable. Easy punched or drilled for fixing. Temperature range -10 °C to +75 °C.

2mm Polycarbonate - Extra tough and durable. A super strong, 2mm thick rigid plastic material which surpasses traditional sign making material. An excellent outdoor material which with long term durability against natural element. All graphics and text are sub-surface of self-adhesive vinyl sticker over laminated. Temperature range - -40 deg °C to +135 °C

Photo luminescent / Glow-in-the Dark - Its provide temporary high visibility in the dark, for a short  period of time, after exposure to light source. Photo luminescent product are classify to a) Engineering Grade and b) Commercial Grade.
